Lior Textile Industries, an Israeli manufacturer and supplier of personal protective products, announced that it had won a €1.5 million contract to supply hundreds of sapper suits to a Western European country’s military.
The suit, designed to improve soldiers’ maneuverability and performance in bomb disposal operations, contains the suit itself, a helmet, gloves, a special scope, and two level IV NIJ 0101.06 Std. ballistic panels for bullet protection – all in a total weight of 13 kg. The suit is made of cutting-edge technology and advanced materials that sets a new standard in the field.
“Our engineers and designers are all veterans of combat service in the IDF as part of our belief that people like that have a better understanding of the combatant capabilities and needs. Therefore, they can develop products that will improve soldiers’ performance and protection,” says Matan Bookris, the company’s BDO. “The presence of such a field-experienced staff upgrades the company’s capabilities and increases the demand for cooperation with other armies around the world. I can honestly say that the rising demand strengthens the national pride of our workers.”
Lior Textile Industries is known as one of the leading suppliers for the IDF in the last 40 years in the field of personal protective gear, and this deal is another milestone in the company’s vision of penetrating new markets in Europe and around the world.
